What is Quilting? Quilting is the process of making a quilt. There are many different types of quilting. For example, applique is where the fabric pieces are stitched onto the front of a piece of fabric. Patchwork is where the fabric pieces are pieced together to create a pattern. Stitching is a type of quilting where the pieces are hand-stitched. Quilting is often seen as a relaxing pastime, but it’s actually a very interesting and complex skill. If you want to learn to quilt, it can be a daunting task. You’ll need a lot of patience and practice. So, let’s look at the different types of quilting and see which ones are best for beginners.

Patchwork

Patchwork is a form of quilting where you create your own fabric pieces, and sew them together into blocks, that is then formed into a pattern to create the quilt top. For many beginners, this is one of the best places to start. because there are many different blocks that are easy to piece together.
